A crazed, unidentified mans walked into a Home Depot in Los Angeles on Wednesday evening and attempted to saw his arms off in front of horrified customers, according to several news sources.

The LA Times reports that police say they arrived at the store to find the man passed out on the floor surrounded in blood.

Police Cpl. Rudy Lopez told The Times that an off-duty Pasadena paramedic was inside the store and helped officers treat the man by making tourniquets from twine and rags found in the store.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital, but his condition is unknown at this time.

Lopez told KABC-TV in Los Angeles that “witnesses said they first noticed him in the action of cutting himself with the saws. The scene itself was quite gruesome.”

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
