SKAMANIA — The trail to the top of Beacon Rock has reopened following completion of repairs to a bridge damaged in a January rock slide.

The mile-long trail to the top of the rock is a popular day hike. On Jan. 25, falling rock damaged the beams of one of the bridges affixed to a cliff face.

Dan R. Dalton, Inc., of Usk, was hired to repair the steel beams. State parks staff repaired the wood decking and hand rails.

Beacon Rock State Park is 35 miles east of Vancouver along state Highway 14 in Skamania County.
