Patriots re-sign tight end Hoomanawanui

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — The New England Patriots re-signed restricted free-agent tight end Michael Hoomanawanui on Tuesday. Terms of the contract weren’t disclosed.

The 24-year-old Hoomanawanui made six starts and played in 14 regular-season games after joining New England as a free agent in September. He had five receptions for 109 yards.

In 30 regular-season games with St. Louis and New England, the 6-foot-4, 263-pound former Illinois player has 25 receptions for 2,338 yards and three touchdowns.
