An 84-year-old woman suffered minor injuries after she lost control of her sedan about noon Wednesday and crashed through a fence in Battle Ground.
The woman was driving her Ford 500 in the 6700 block of Northeast 269th Street when she came to a sharp curve and left the roadway, said Battalion Chief Tim Dawdy, spokesman for Clark County Fire & Rescue.
She drove through an industrial fence surrounding property owned by the county. Her car narrowly missed the blades of several snowplows stored on the property before hitting a pile of sand that slowed down and eventually stopped her car, Dawdy said.
CCF&R was dispatched at 12:04 p.m. to the accident.
The woman, whose name was not released, suffered minor injuries but was transported to a hospital as a precaution.
“It could have been a lot worse,” Dawdy said.
