AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Track officials say an overnight garage fire at the Circuit of the Americas in Texas caused minimal damage and will not disrupt the inaugural MotoGP of The Americas this weekend.

Circuit of the Americas officials say the fire started about 1 a.m. Thursday and was likely caused by an electric motorcycle engine starter that was charging. The fire was contained to one garage being used by the Monster Yamaha Tech 3 team.

The track’s fire suppression system also discharged water and other fire retardants in other garages. No one was injured.

Track officials say there was no significant damage to racing equipment and the race will go on as planned.
