ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) — The Detroit Lions have taken Larry Warford in the third round of the NFL draft.

Detroit drafted the Kentucky offensive guard 65th overall Friday night.

The Lions took Mississippi State cornerback Darius Slay in the second round earlier in the day after drafting BYU defensive end Ziggy Ansah with the No. 5 pick overall.

The 6-3, 333-pound Warford will have an opportunity to start at guard opposite Rob Sims on Detroit’s revamped line that is without three starters from last season.
