FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — The New York Jets have drafted Wake Forest fullback Tommy Bohanon with their final pick in the seventh round.

Bohanon was known as a punishing lead blocker who was outstanding at picking up the blitz as a pass protector for the Demon Deacons, but played in more of an H-back role last season. He played with wide receiver Brad Idzik, the son of Jets general manager John Idzik, the last two years.

The 6-foot, 245-pound Bohanon caught a career-high 32 passes for 208 yards and five touchdowns last season and was invited to the Senior Bowl. He bench-pressed 225 pounds 36 times, the best mark at the NFL combine among running backs and fullbacks.
