WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — Indiana diver David Boudia is gearing up for his first competition since winning a gold medal in the London Olympics.

The Noblesville, Ind., swimmer will compete at the USA Diving Grand Prix on May 9 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Boudia won a bronze medal in London in the synchronized platform event with Nicholas McCrory. He upset world champion Qiu Bo of China by less than two points to win gold on the 10-meter platform.

Boudia tells WLFI-TV (http://bit.ly/14WPI8G ) he is back on a regular training schedule and is working alongside his former Purdue teammates to prepare for the Grand Prix. The event will feature divers from 16 countries.

He says his former teammates help keep him grounded despite the national attention he’s received since the Olympics.
