Dodgers’ Ellis, Mattingly ejected

CHICAGO (AP) — Los Angeles Dodgers leadoff hitter Mark Ellis and manager Don Mattingly were ejected in the fourth inning against the Chicago Cubs on Friday.

Ellis threw his bat a few feet and raised his arms after being called out on strikes by plate umpire Alan Porter. Ellis was tossed and slammed his helmet in disgust.

Mattingly came out and was ejected, too, for the third time this season. As the argument continued, it looked as if he and Porter might have bumped into each other.
