TORONTO (AP) — Miralem Pjanic scored twice and Alessandro Florenzi added a goal and an assist as Roma defeated Toronto FC 4-1 in a friendly match Wednesday night.

Both goals by Pjanic, a first-half substitute, were highlight-reel material. Pjanic bent in a free kick in the 67th minute to make it 3-1. He made it 4-1 in the 87th after stealing the ball, faking goalkeeper Quillan Roberts and then backheeling a shot home.

Florenzi, a 22-year-old midfielder, also had a goal and assist in Roma’s 3-1 win over the MLS all-stars last week, earning MVP honors.

Toronto went ahead against the run of play on a 15th-minute own goal by Roma captain Nicolas Burdisso. Then Roma took charge.

Roma’s stars — Francesco Totti, Daniel De Rossi and newcomer Kevin Strootman — either came in late or watched the victory.
