SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) — Heavily favored West Hills Giant was declared the winner of the $100,000 New York Stallion Stakes Cab Calloway Division for 3-year-old state-breds after the disqualification of Orino on Wednesday at Saratoga Race Course.

Orino seized control at the break, led at every call and finished 114 lengths in front of West Hills Giant after running a mile over turf in 1:36.18. The stewards immediately posted the inquiry and found Orino guilty of interference in the stretch.

West Hills Giant, owned by Long Island Racing Stables and Sunrise Stables, is trained by John Terranova and was ridden by Edgar Prado. He earned $60,000 and paid $3.20, $2.60, $2.20. The demoted Orino returned $7.30 and $4.80. Captain Gaughen, third of seven, paid $2.80.
