Published: August 6, 2013, 5:00pm

Meadow Homes — Faye B. Needy had a “warm and radiant smile” as she served coffee and other goodies at the neighborhood cleanups she organized, according to the latest Meadow Homes Neighborhood Association newsletter. Needy, “a very special neighbor,” died at home July 9 at age 87. In addition to her neighborhood activities, her obituary noted that she worked as a reading aide at John Rogers Elementary School and volunteered at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. A service was held July 16 at Memorial Lutheran Church. “She is certainly a wonderful example of a life well lived,” the neighborhood newsletter concludes.
