CLEVELAND (AP) — Indians shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera has been ejected in the second inning against the Los Angeles Angels.

Cabrera was ejected by plate umpire Vic Carapazza after striking out to lead off the inning. Cabrera stepped out of the box after taking a called second strike and exchanged words with Carapazza. He then struck out swinging, argued with the umpire again and was ejected. Cabrera flung his bat and helmet to the ground before going to the dugout.

Cleveland manager Terry Francona had a lengthy discussion with Carapazza, but remained in the game.

The Indians, who had lost six straight games going into Sunday, trailed 4-0 at the time of Cabrera’s ejection.
