Bears sign snapper Hartson, safety Martin

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) — The Chicago Bears have signed rookie long snapper Brandon Hartson and veteran safety Derrick Martin.

They also placed cornerback Kelvin Hayden on injured reserve and waived safety Chyl Quarles.

Hartson, a long snapper for four seasons at Houston, received a three-year deal. Martin has played in 66 games for four teams over seven seasons and signed a one-year contract.
