Former Olympian Watts joins USC track staff

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Two-time Olympic gold medalist Quincy Watts has joined Southern California’s track and field coaching staff.

He will coach the sprinters.

Watts won gold in the 400-meter dash and 1,600 relay at the 1992 Barcelona Games. He was a two-time medalist at the world championships.

Watts was a four-year letterman at USC from 1989-92, winning the 400 at the 1992 NCAA championships.

He spent the last two seasons as the distance coach at Cal State Northridge.
