BREMERTON — Bremerton police say officers responding to a domestic violence call at an apartment complex were confronted by a woman armed with two knives and shot her when she advanced on one of the officers.

Police say she was hit multiple times Sunday night and taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, condition unknown.

The Bremerton officer who fired the shots is a 17-year veteran, now on leave for an investigation by the Kitsap County Investigative Response Team, led by the Washington State Patrol.
