SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) — Hogy drew away in the stretch for a 112-length victory Wednesday in the $100,000 Troy Stakes at Saratoga Race Course.
The 4-year-old gelding, trained by Wayne Catalano and ridden by Joe Rocco Jr., ran 512 furlongs over the yielding turf course in 1:02.61 and earned $60,000 for owner William Stiritz. He paid $6.40, $2.90 and $2.20.
Great Mills returned $2.90 and $2.10, and Strong Impact, third of five, paid $2.10 to show.
