o Summertime bonsai maintenance for beginners: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 17. Staff will share their knowledge and advice for keeping your bonsai in top shape during summer and demonstrate for you just what that means.

o Canning vegetables, meat, fish and poultry:10 a.m. to noon Aug. 17. Clark County Master Food Preservers will discuss the pressure canning process, why it is necessary and the safe steps to using a pressure canner. Pressure canner gauge testing will be provided; bring your lid with dial gauge, rubber gasket/ring and safety plug.

o Deer-resistant plants: 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 17. Learn to design your landscape with varieties that are naturally not that appetizing to deer.

o Cutting Gardens: 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 24. Learn about the vast array of perennials available for creating your own cutting garden.

Mount St. Helens Flora and Fauna: 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 17 at CASEE, Room 205, 11104 N.E. 149th St., Brush Prairie. Learn about the flora and fauna at Mount St. Helens. NatureScaping classes are free for members, or $15 for nonmembers. Register: info@naturescaping.org or hannahfa70@yahoo.com.
