Two vehicles collided Friday afternoon in a four-way intersection on Highway 503 south of Battle Ground.

The accident occurred at Highway 503 and Northeast 179th Street, an intersection with traffic lights. Battalion Chief Tim Dawdy, spokesman for Clark County Fire & Rescue, described it as an offset head-on collision. The front of a silver sedan collided with the front corner of a purple SUV. No one was seriously injured in the collision.

The northbound lane of the highway was temporarily blocked while Battle Ground police investigated.

Dawdy said the use of seat belts, combined with the deployed air bags, made the outcome of the accident more positive than it could have been.
