Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges has hired Scott Archer as its Director of External Operations.

Archer, 30, will oversee all NWAACC tournaments and special events, according to NWAACC executive director Marco Azurdia. The external operations post is a new position on the NWAACC staff.

By adding Archer in a new role on the NWAACC staff, Azurdia said he will be able to spend more time focusing on his long-range vision for the NWAACC and the details that impact each athlete’s college experience.

Archer will start on Sept. 3. The NWAACC oversees athletic competition among 34 Northwest community colleges, including Clark College. The NWAACC office is on the Clark College campus.

Archer began his teaching career with Evergreen Public Schools, where he served as an assistant basketball coach at both Evergreen and Mountain View. Most recently, he worked in donor relations for the University of California, Davis.
