Starting Sunday, Clark Regional Emergency Services Agency is launching its fourth annual preparedness event, challenging social media users to get ready for the worst.

The online game is called 30 Days, 30 Ways Preparedness Event where each day of September — National Preparedness Month — players are given a task by CRESA staff. In that 24-hour period, they are asked to reply to the task by Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Tumblr.

The tasks are designed to be short and the replies intended to get people sharing information as they are thinking about being ready for a disaster.

Though the event is organized locally, it has spread to 26 states and six countries, according to CRESA.

Submissions for each day’s challenge will be reviewed for creativity, relativity and popularity online and winners will be selected each day to win a $10 gift card to either Starbucks or Amazon.

Two grand prize winners will be selected in October and will win a $50 Amazon card and a $10 Starbucks card.
