VAIL, Colo. (AP) — Bill Marolt will step down as president and CEO of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association after the Sochi Olympics.

He’ll be replaced by former Olympian Tiger Shaw, who will start on Oct. 1 as chief operating officer before taking over after the Olympics in February.

Marolt, who has been in charge of USSA for 18 years, will remain as vice president of the International Ski Federation and a member of the U.S. Olympic Committee’s board of directors. He also plans to help the organization with fundraising.

Said Marolt in a phone interview: “It’s always hard to leave something behind, there’s no question. But at the same time, it’s time. It’s time for new leadership. It’s exciting.”
