TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Cardinals have placed tight end Jeff King and defensive tackle Ricky Lumpkin on season-ending injured reserve.

King underwent surgery on his right knee earlier in the week, Lumpkin has a shoulder injury.

Arizona also released five players — wide receiver Kerry Taylor, linebacker Reggie Walker, offensive tackle Jamaal Johnson-Webb, linebacker Kenny Rowe and defensive tackle Padric Scott.

By releasing Taylor, a former Arizona State player, Arizona has four wide receivers on its roster. Undrafted rookie free agent Jaron Brown beat out Taylor for the No. 4 receiver spot.

The moves also mean coach Bruce Arians will have three quarterbacks. He had considered releasing No. 3 QB Ryan Lindley.

The moves get the Cardinals to the 53-man roster limit for the regular season.
