IRVING, Texas (AP) — The Dallas Cowboys have claimed linebacker Kyle Bosworth off waivers from the New York Giants.

The Cowboys had a spot on their 53-man roster Sunday after trading defensive tackle Sean Lissemore to San Diego for an undisclosed draft pick.

Bosworth, the nephew of former Oklahoma great Brian Bosworth, was born in Irving and played high school football in the Dallas area.

He signed with Jacksonville as an undrafted free agent in 2010 out of UCLA and started five games for the Jaguars last season. He was among the final cuts Saturday by the Giants, who signed him in May.

Bosworth has 21 tackles and an interception in 25 career games.
