Phillies agree to deal with Kevin Frandsen

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Utilityman Kevin Frandsen and the Philadelphia Phillies agreed to a one-year, $900,000 contract Monday night, avoiding arbitration.

Frandsen made a base salary of $850,000 last year and earned another $50,000 for reaching 250 plate appearances.

The 31-year-old Frandsen played first, second and third base for the Phillies last year. In 119 games, he batted .234 with five homers and 26 RBIs.
