HAMDEN, Conn. (AP) — D.J. Irving scored 22 points, including the game-winning 3-pointer with 3 seconds left, to lead Boston past Quinnipiac 69-66 Monday night.

Quinnipiac’s Ousmane Drame tied the game at 66 with 1:02 remaining and Ike Azotam’s steal just a few seconds later gave the Bobcats (4-2) a chance to put the game away. Nathan Dieudonne corralled an errant 3-point shot by Evan Conti with 17 seconds to play, setting up Irving’s game-winning shot.

Boston (6-2) was out-rebounded 47-27, including 18-2 on the offensive glass, but limited Quinnipiac to just 4-of-16 shooting from behind the 3-point line and the Bobcats converted just 8 of 15 free throws.

Irving came into the game shooting just 29.8 percent from the field. He finished 6 of 14 from the field, hitting 4 of 5 from 3-point range.

Drame finished with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Azotam added 14 points and 15 boards in the loss.
