CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher says Jameis Winston showed no signs of stress during the three weeks the star quarterback had been under investigation for rape.

Fisher, Winston and the Seminoles are going through final preparations for the Atlantic Coast Conference championship in Charlotte on Friday. On Thursday, prosecutors in Tallahassee announced no charges would be filed in a year-old complaint against Winston made by a former Florida State student.

Winston has become one of college football’s biggest stars in his first season on the field. The redshirt freshman has played brilliantly, while also charming Florida State fans with an ever-present smile and natural charisma.

Fisher says of Winston: “He’s been the same guy. … He believed in the process, and he believed in himself, and he’s been the same guy.”
