FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Michael Qualls scored 17 points as Arkansas held off a late Clemson rally to win 74-68 Saturday.
Arkansas (6-2) led by as many as 16 points in the second half, but the Tigers pulled within 70-66 on a K.J. McDaniels dunk with 29 seconds left. Playing the nation’s leading scoring defense, Arkansas made only two field goals in the game’s final 10 minutes.
Rashad Madden finished with a season-high 14 points for the Razorbacks.
McDaniels led all scorers with a career-high 27 points for Clemson (7-2).
Clemson used an 11-2 run to pull within 65-60 on a McDaniels 3-pointer with 2:49 remaining. The Tigers twice trailed by four points in the final minute, but couldn’t get any closer.
Clemson out-rebounded Arkansas 45-30 and recorded 19 offensive rebounds. The Tigers, who shot 32.8 percent, rarely capitalized, though, finishing with 14 second-chance points.
Arkansas has won 19 straight games at home.
