Letter: No one should restrict choice

The Columbian
Published: December 8, 2013, 4:00pm

Who in their right mind is going to allow the opinion of a man in his seventies, Washougal City Council member Dave Shoemaker, who most likely doesn’t have any intention of having children, decide on young females’ access to abortion or vital information they will need in making a major life decision? Are we going back to the dark ages for $7,500? How silly is this, and don’t we have bigger problems to worry about?

Is the nonprofit Children’s Home Society of Washington, the recipient of the $7,500 subsidy, doing anything else to help the unfortunate? It sounds to me like it is. I think the proposal to withdraw this subsidy is laughable.

Shame on all of them.
