LONGVIEW — The Cowlitz Public Utility District expects to sell power worth $5.5 million next year from its share of the output from the White Creek wind farm in Klickitat County, in south central Washington.

Commissioners approved the sale last month to Shell Energy, which will market the renewable power to California public utilities.

The Daily News reports that Shell is paying Cowlitz PUD $7.4 million for wind energy sales this year.
