2 players shoot 59s in Durban, with preferred lies

DURBAN, South Africa (AP) — Two players shot 59s using preferred lies in the second round of the rain-soaked Nelson Mandela Championship on Friday.

Jorge Campillo of Spain and Colin Nel of South Africa both reached what is seen as golf’s magic number, although the scores won’t count as European Tour records, because players were allowed to improve their lies on the sodden Mount Edgecombe course.
