St. Bonaventure beats Iona 102-89

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. (AP) — Andell Cumberbatch scored 25 points with five assists and grabbed seven rebounds as St. Bonaventure beat Iona 102-89 on Saturday.

Dion Wright came off the bench to post 22 points with eight rebounds. Charlon Kloof and Jordan Gathers each had 17 points and Marquise Simmons chipped in with 15 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. St. Bonaventure hit 54.5 percent from the field and 50 percent from the 3-point line.

The Bonnies (7-3) opened with a 22-8 run in the first period and led by 14 at the break. By 10:57 in the second, they had widened the spread to 22 and were able to maintain a double-digit advantage through the remaining minutes.

St. Bonaventure outrebounded Iona 44-28.

High scorer for the Gaels (5-3) was Sean Armand with 30 points, a pair of rebounds and four assists.
