KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Dawson Cummings helped spark a second-half scoring run as Indiana State came back to defeat Missouri-Kansas City 74-63 on Saturday.

The Sycamores (7-2) had lost an early lead with 6:22 left in the first half and narrowly trailed or tied until Cummings put them over the top for keeps with a layup at 17:12 left in the game. The basket sparked a 15-2 run for Indiana State.

Justin Gant finished with 13 points and Demetrius Moore 10 for Indiana State — each with seven rebounds as the Sycamores out-boarded the Kangaroos 40-32.

UMKC (2-7) trailed 10-2 in the first four minutes. Martez Harrison scored 16 of his game-high 20 points in the first half, hitting a 3-pointer to spark his own 7-0 run that put the Roos up 27-22, still ahead 36-34 at halftime. Trinity Hall scored 16 points and Nelson Kirksey 11. UMKC made just 3 of 19 3-pointers.
