TCU gets by Texas-Pan American 57-48

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Kyan Anderson led a balanced TCU offense with 16 points in a 57-48 win over Texas-Pan American on Sunday.

TCU (6-3) and UTPA (4-8) were tied at 45 with 3:23 remaining, before the Horned Frogs closed the game on a 12-3 run, led by six points from Anderson.

Four TCU players reached double digits, led by Anderson. Jarvis Ray scored 12 and TCU freshman Karviar Shepherd finished with a career-high 11 points and 11 rebounds. Brandon Parrish added 10 points.

Both teams struggled with shots outside the key, with a total of 52 points scored in the paint. The Horned Frogs were 3 of 20 from long range and UTPA made just 4 of 20 3-pointers.

TCU was the more efficient offensive team, shooting 38.5 percent from the field. UTPA made just 32.8 percent of its shots.

Shaquille Hines led Texas-Pan American with 12 points and Justin Leathers added 10.
