LAKE PLACID, N.Y. (AP) — Elizabeth Yarnold of Britain won a shortened World Cup skeleton race on Sunday at Mount Van Hoevenberg, topping Austria’s Janine Flock.

Yarnold finished one run in 56.27 seconds to extend her World Cup series points lead. Flock was timed in 56.61 seconds and Noelle Pikus-Pace of the U.S. was third in 56.72 seconds.

The race was delayed by about 90 minutes at the start and shortened to one run because of track conditions.

It was the second win of the season for Yarnold, who was credited with the victory in the season-opening race in Calgary, Alberta after Pikus-Pace was disqualified after a dispute about tape being applied to her sled handle.
