Mercer runs past Alcorn State 70-44

MACON, Ga. (AP) — Langston Hall, who had 13 points and eight assists, led Mercer to an easy 70-44 victory over Alcorn State Monday night.

Hall was one of four players in double figures for Mercer (7-4) as Daniel Coursey and Anthony White Jr. both also had 13 points. Jakob Gollon added 11.

The Mercer defense stymied Alcorn State (3-7), limiting the Braves to 15 for 62 from the floor. Meanwhile the Bears were hitting 52.3 percent of their floor shots, making 5 of 12 3-point attempts.

LeAntwan Luckett led the Braves with 22 points. Twan Oakley added 13.

White started the scoring with a layup as Mercer quickly jumped out to a 15-2 lead at the 12:37 mark. The Braves closed to 22-18 on an Oakley layup with 3:05 remaining in the first period. Mercer held a 27-20 lead at the half.

Mercer took control in the second half, outscoring Alcorn State 43-24.
