Letter: Newcomers join forces with club

It was heartening to see the Dec. 13 story, “Newcomers flocking to Clark County,” about all the people moving to Southwest Washington. To help these new residents, I wholeheartedly recommend them joining the Clark County Newcomers Club, http://clarkcountynewcomers.com/. The club has several hundred members of varying demographics and has a huge amount of activities available to members. There are games of all kinds, hiking, walking, golf, a men’s club, which has some of its own activities, gardening, and this list simply taps the surface.

When my wife and I moved here four-and-a-half years ago, we knew almost nobody, but we were aware of newcomers clubs. We Googled and found CCNC and it has been a great source of friends, fun and keeping us as busy as we want to be.

Give it a try, you’ll love it.
