BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Buffalo coach Jeff Quinn has a firm grasp of what’s at stake when his team meets San Diego State in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl on Saturday.

Quinn, who took over the program four years ago, says a victory changes history for a team that has never tasted success in the postseason.

The Bulls (8-4) are led by a defense that gave up just 268 points and forced 27 turnovers. The Bulls also put together a school-best seven-game winning streak during the middle of the season.

San Diego State is playing in its fourth consecutive bowl game. The Aztecs (7-5) got off to a rough start, losing three straight before finishing the year by winning four of their last five games.
