UTEP defeats Northwestern State 84-74

EL PASO, Texas (AP) — John Bohannon scored 10 points, grabbed 13 rebounds and had six assists to lead UTEP over Northwestern State 84-74 Thursday night.

Bohannon picks up his second double-double in a row and the 13th of his career.

McKenzie Moore led UTEP (6-5) with 17 points. Moore has led the team in scoring a team-high five times. Three others scored in double figures for the Miners.

Northwestern State (4-7) outscored UTEP 45-42 in the second half. DeQuan Hicks led Northwestern State with 20 points, 12 rebounds and five assists. Zikiteran Woodley hit two 3-pointers to go with his 18 points.

The Demons continue to struggle from the 3-point range. Northwestern State averages 27.6 percent from beyond the arc. The Demons shot 4 of 20 for 20 percent from 3-point range against the Miners.
