GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Brayden Carlson scored 22 points and Cody Larson added 21 on Saturday and South Dakota State held off a North Dakota surge to win 77-70.

Troy Huff opened with a dunk for North Dakota (3-7), but Larson hit a jumper, layup and free throw to put the Jackrabbits (7-7) ahead 7-2, and Anders Broman hit back-to-back 3-pointers to boost the lead to 19-10. But North Dakota came back with a 12-2 run, tying the game at 32 at halftime on a jumper by Jamal Webb.

The lead traded hands four times in the second half until 14:30, when Carlson hit a 3-pointer, sparking a 9-0 run and a 49-40 Jackrabbits lead. North Dakota rallied, making it a one-point game on a Quinton Hooker jumper, but the Jackrabbits pulled ahead on back-to-back treys by Jordan Bykstra and Carlson and held on for the win.

Huff scored 30 points for North Dakota.
