Hunter’s 41 leads Georgia St. win over UTSA

SAN ANTONIO (AP) — R.J. Hunter scored a career-high 41 points, hitting a career-high 12 3-pointers, to power Georgia State to a 99-68 win over Texas-San Antonio Sunday.

The sophomore son of Georgia State coach Ron Hunter and a Kyle Macy Freshman All-America a year ago, was 14 of 21 from the field and 12 of 19 from long range.

Devonta White dished out 11 assists while Manny Atkins had 20 points and Ryan Harrow added another 19 points and eight assists for the Panthers (6-6), who collected their first win on the road this season.

Georgia State shot just under 56 percent from the field (30 of 54) and was even more efficient from 3-point range, hitting 19-32 (59 percent).

The Roadrunners (3-8) were led by Jordan Sims’ 17 points, with James Williams adding 16 off the bench and Edrico McGregor 10.

Texas-San Antonio committed 17 turnovers.
