Santa Clara beats South Florida 66-65 at Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Jared Brownridge scored two game-winning free throws with 10 seconds left, lifting Santa Clara to a 66-65 victory over South Florida in the final round of the Las Vegas Classic on Monday night.

Brownridge also hit a 3-pointer from the left arc with 53 seconds left to put the Broncos (7-6) ahead, 64-63 after they trailed 60-51 with five minutes remaining. He scored all 10 of his points in the second half.

Also for Santa Clara, Brandon Clark had 12 points and Jalen Richard 10. The Broncos finish the Classic 3-1 and third in the eight-team invitational.

Victor Rudd led South Florida (8-4) with 19 points and nine rebounds. Chris Perry had 13 points, and John Egbunu had 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Bulls, who finish the Classic 2-2.

Shemiye McLendon, 10 points, scored a running layup at the 27-second mark to put the Bulls up 65-64.
