Air stagnation advisory in effect across metro-area

Vancouver — The National Weather Service in Portland on Monday announced an air stagnation advisory that includes much of Clark County.

The advisory will be in effect from this evening to Friday afternoon, according to the weather service.

Dominant high pressure and minimal winds will lead to stagnant air and deteriorating air quality later this week, forecasters said. The pattern will allow pollutants to accumulate in the air, which can cause adverse effects for some people.

The Southwest Clean Air Agency, which monitors air quality in the area, had not yet announced a burn ban Monday.
