Ridgefield — Wreath-laying ceremonies were held across the country Dec. 14 to honor the lives of soldiers, including at Northwood Park Cemetery. The annual “Wreaths Across America” fundraiser asks people to sponsor wreaths that are then ceremonially placed on graves. It’s coordinated by the Civil Air Patrol, an auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force. At Northwood, a group of local Patriot Guard Riders stood watch over the ceremony while members of Vancouver’s Boy Scout Troop 14 helped lay the decorations.
