Shumway — A Vancouver Girl Scout troop recently gathered gifts for children in need as part of their Bronze Award project. Troop 42561 sponsored a “Gift and Giving Tree” toy drive Dec. 11 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. Girl Scouts and others from the community donated 50 gifts which were delivered to Share House. A Bronze Award is the highest honor a Girl Scout Junior can earn. “We are really proud of our girls for all their hard work they put into this project,” troop leader Amy Surface wrote in an email.
