Mercer routs St. Andrews 98-56

MACON, Ga. (AP) — Langston Hall scored 17 points Friday and Mercer routed Division II St. Andrews 98-56 for its fourth win in a row.

Hall had three assists, for a career total of 501, becoming the 12th player in Atlantic Sun Conference history to top 500 assists.

Mercer’s Jakob Gollon opened the game with a jumper, but St. Andrews (1-8) came back to lead briefly before Hall scored four 3-pointers in a row, sparking a 25-3 run and a 55-27 halftime lead. Hall had five treys on the night.

Mercer opened the second half with a 14-2 run and pulled away, with all 13 players seeing playing time and all but two scoring points. The Bears out-rebounded the Knights 47-17 and outshot them 55.9 percent (33-59) to 42.6 percent (23-54).

Monty Brown scored 12 for Mercer (9-4), and Phillip Leonard and Daniel Coursey had 11 each.

Aaron Smith led St. Andrews with 15.
