GREENVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Manny Atkins, Ryan Harrow and R.J. Hunter combined for 73 points in leading Georgia State past East Carolina 89-82 Sunday.

Atkins paced Georgia State with 27 points and he also hauled in 12 rebounds.

Georgia State (7-6) led at the half 35-27 but East Carolina raced back in the second tying the game at 42 three minutes into the period on a Michael Zangari layup. The Pirates stayed with Georgia State until the Panthers took it to the paint, getting two layups followed by a resounding dunk by Atkins to go up by seven with 12 minutes left.

East Carolina (10-4) never recovered as Hunter and Harrow converted free throws down the stretch to preserve the win for Georgia State.
