UAB controls a 69-57 victory over Alabama A&M

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — C.J. Washington scored 19 points and Robert Williams added 11 rebounds as UAB remained unbeaten at home with a 69-57 victory over Alabama A&M on Sunday.

Washington hit all six shots from the line as UAB made 17 of 22 free throws after the Bulldogs racked up 23 personal fouls. UAB had a distinct advantage on the glass, grabbing 14 more rebounds than the Bulldogs (51-37).

The Blazers (10-3) led by as many as 15 points twice in the game, the last at 67-52 with 1:09 left to play.

Demarquelle Tabb came off the bench to score 18 points and finish with 12 rebounds for the Bulldogs (3-7). Alabama A&M led 5-4 with 15:38 remaining in the first half, but could not regain the lead after trailing and came no closer than eight points in the second half.
