Weber State tops Northern New Mexico 75-49

OGDEN, Utah (AP) — Kyle Tresnak scored 22 points and blocked a career-high five shots to lead Weber State past Northern New Mexico 75-49 Saturday night.

Christian Barraza scored 11-straight points for Northern New Mexico (10-9) to pull the Eagles within five, 42-37, but Weber State responded with a 15-6 run during which Tresnak scored 11 points and Northern New Mexico never got closer than nine again.

Royce Williams scored 10 of his 16 points in the first half as the Wildcats (3-5) went into the break with a 31-26 advantage.

Williams was 6 of 6 from the field and hit four 3-pointers. Tresnak hit 8 of 9 field goals as Weber State shot 56.5 percent, including 5 of 10 from behind the arc.

Barraza paced the Eagles, who shot 31 percent (18 of 58) and were out-rebounded 40-29, with 13 points. Matthew Brito added 12.
