ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) — Sushi Empire went three-wide in the stretch to win the $75,000 Blue Norther Stakes for 3-year-old fillies by 114 lengths Wednesday at Santa Anita.

Ridden by Corey Nakatani, Sushi Empire ran a mile on the turf in 1:36.22 and paid $8.40, $3.40 and $2.40 in winning for the first time.

Full Ransom returned $2.80 and $2.10 as the 6-5 favorite in the field of seven. Rever de Vous was another half-length back in third and paid $3 to show.

Tyler Baze finished fourth aboard One More Wild Ride as he returned to riding Wednesday after a 512-month absence because of a suspension for alcohol abuse.

The victory, worth $47,100, increased Sushi Empire’s career earnings to $70,560. She has one win in five starts.
